Art & Music Therapy

Art and Music Therapy are an important part of the specialist psychosocial care provided by Perpetual Care.

Our young people and adolescents do not require any previous training or experience to attend music or art therapy.  This therapy can help alleviate any anxiety or fear they may feel around their illness or depression, help with pain or insomnia, loss and bereavement or a desire to explore their own creativity and discover new ways to express themselves.

These therapies can provide a form of psychotherapy which allows young people and adolescents the opportunity to explore the implications of their illness at their own pace.

Art and music therapies offer opportunities to uncover and express important feelings that many young people have been unable to put into words.  It can help to support young people across the entire spectrum of emotional and psychological response to their diagnosis, treatment and prognosis.
