Our Profile

Providing high quality care for children, young people and vulnerable adults.
Perpetual Care is an independent care provider to vulnerable children, young people and adults. For over ten years Perpetual Care have worked in partnership with Local Authorities in developing tailor made packages of care to meet the needs of the most vulnerable members of their communities.
A range of residential placements can be offered for children, young people and vulnerable adults who may need a period of stability, assessment or long term support. We have and continue to deliver positive outcomes for all clients we care for and assist them to live a successful and fulfilling adult life.

Be Healthy
It is the right of every child to enjoy a healthy childhood and at Perpetual Care we work alongside health care professionals to ensure that we meet all presenting and future health care needs. Many children arrive at Perpetual Care having experienced very chaotic parenting and lifestyles and as a result there may have been a steady deterioration in their health and development.
Through the process of assessment and care planning we are able to identify unmet health needs and develop appropriate strategies to implement positive change.
Healthy eating is promoted by all our foster carers and residential staff that recognise it is essential for everyone especially children that they receive all the nutrients they need to grow and develop. Eating well and being physically active will improve children’s health as well as their ability to learn and achieve at school. Encouraging our children to eat healthily now will make them more likely to adopt a healthy lifestyle as they get older.

Stay Safe
Every child deserves the opportunity to grow up in safe environment that is free from threats or harm. It is our first and most important task to ensure that the children and young people are cared for in a way that protects their physical and emotional wellbeing.
Foster carers and residential staff receive ongoing child protection training to assist them in their day to day working with children. Risk assessments identify ways of reducing risk that may face children in their day to day life’s leaving them free to enjoy their childhood.

Enjoy and Achieve
At Perpetual Care we strive to ensure that we maximise every child’s potential and understand the importance of developing each child’s academic and social potential. Wherever possible we aim to maintain the child in their current school placement as not to create any further disruption in their lives. Some children who are placed with foster carers or residential homes may need extra levels of support to help them back on track during this difficult period and tailor made packages of support can be delivered to each individual child to ensure that they are able achieve the best possible results and outcomes.
Children and young people are encouraged to follow their interests and hobbies and will be supported if they wish to attend any community based clubs that will further develop their skills.

Make a Positive Contribution
Children and young people’s views shape the way we deliver our services and we believe that the quality of the care we deliver can only be judged against the outcomes and involvement of young people. It is essential that young people have a voice that is listened to, valued and acted upon. Children are involved in the day to day decision making in our residential establishments and foster homes and have a full understanding of their rights and responsibilities.
Children are encouraged to take an active interest in their local community and wider society ensuring they can have a fulfilling adult life.

Achieving Economic Wellbeing
The experience for many children who leave care is very poor but at Perpetual Care we prepare all young people with the necessary skills which will enable them to live successfully independently in their local communities. Young people will be supported in developing their skills in relation to budgeting, cooking, vocational training and employment and provide them with ongoing guidance and support. All young people who leave home whether in a family situation or after a period of being looked will at times make mistakes and need to be given a helping hand to help them back on their feet and Perpetual Care is committed to delivering this support.

Residential Child Care
Perpetual Care operates children’s homes in the Lancashire area. Presently, we have one registered five bedded unit catering for young people with emotional and behavioral difficulties. A further two smaller homes are due to open in the autumn catering for young people with more complex needs.

Education
Comprehensive educational packages are provided, although main stream education is pursued as a first choice. However, this is not always appropriate and consultation takes place with the education department where decisions will be made as to the best possible means of providing education.

Training
We are committed to meeting and exceeding all national care standards. Perpetual Care is a founder member of the NT child care consortium. NTCCC facilitates the delivery of training and development for our staff team that meets and exceeds government standards.

IIP
Perpetual Care recognizes and values the importance of training and development of its staff and has achieved the IIP status in recognition of its policies.

Other Units
Alongside our residential children’s unit we also provide residential care for vulnerable adults with mental health problems.
